Update (8/3/2025): At capacity, waitlist

I have many repairs in progress at the moment, and need to take a couple weeks to catch up on everything. Feel free to reach out, but I don’t plan to take on any new projects until approximately 8/16. Thanks for your patience.

About Us

I started Ypsi/Arbor Electronics Repair in May of 2022 as a side gig with the aim to reduce electronics waste and save people money. I have a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and over ten years of experience in the automotive industry. Much of that has been electrical-oriented.

I work on a wide range of electronic devices, not limited to the following:

• Headphones (Bose, Beats, Sennheiser, Sony, etc.)

• USB port replacement

• Small Appliances

• PCs/Laptops (port & screen replacement, not software/BIOS issues)

• DVD/CD Players & Radios

• TVs (50″ or smaller) – no backlight replacements or glass removal

Scroll to the bottom for a more detailed list. If you have a faulty device, just ask!

However, I do NOT currently service the following:

• Smartphones (Apple, Android)

• Tablets (Apple, Android, Amazon, Samsung, etc.)

• Computer SSD/HDD replacement or software/registry cleanup

• Data recovery

There are other shops in the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area that are much more familiar with those devices and services.

Contact

The best way to contact me is via email at contact@YpsiArborElectronicsRepair.com

or YpsiArborElectronicsRepair@gmail.com

Or, during my regular business hours, I can be reached via text or phone: (734) 383-1102

Text or email is greatly preferred over voicemail.

hours

My regular business hours are as follows:

Weekdays (Wednesday & Thursday): 7pm – 8pm

Saturday: 11am – 3pm

I generally do not answer my phone outside of regular business hours. However, feel free to send a text message or voicemail and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

rates

I charge an initial diagnosis/inspection fee of $20 (per device), and then $20 per hour after that, plus the cost of parts. Some small issues can be fixed within inspection/diagnosis without extra labor charge.

Typical repairs cost between $40 and $100, but each job is different. If I cannot fix the device, or if you choose not to go through with the repair, I just charge the diagnosis/inspection fee ($20).

Location, Pickup, & drop-off

I am based in Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197.

Most repairs are done by scheduling a drop-off time at my home, typically during posted business hours. I can also go pick up and drop off to you. For each trip out, I charge based on the following formula:
2 * ( ( ( travel time [min] / 60 ) * $15 ) + ( distance [miles] * $0.70 ) )

I use Google Maps to find the fastest travel time and distance from Golfside Lake Apartments. I’m charging $15 per hour for driving, plus using the 2025 federal gas mileage rate of $0.70 per mile.

Example:

Traveling to Depot Town takes 10 minutes and is 3.9 miles away, so I would charge $9.40 per trip. Both picking up and dropping off would cost $18.79, on top of the inspection fee and any additional labor.
